So! A mere week after my request to join was accepted,

Destash.blogspot.com is ending. Guess my plans to post destashable yarns this weekend are now null.

In the wake of the announcement, I got a flurry of emails of people soliciting the use of the following sites:

• http://www.fortheloveofyarn.com/classifieds/index.php
• http://destashyourstash.wordpress.com/
• and then the unknown quantity destash.wordpress.com

Um, hello. Destash worked very well because people knew to go there. There were not five sites to check. It was well-established, and the rules were sensible. I think only one person within this email flurry offered to step in and take over the original Destash, but this is a by far the best idea. The proprieters of Destash told me that Blogger is a lousy system, so taking over that particular site won’t work… but you know, a handful of Destash Babies sites won’t work either.

Remember when there were a whole bunch of auction site startups, but Ebay starved them all out? Unless Susan and Teri will do us a huge favor and anoint a chosen heir, I guess we’re going to have to wait until one of the new destasheries manages to kill all of its littermates.

Dammit, I want to raise the money for a yarn swift now.
