Grace

It’s Grace.  You may notice that it looks a bit different from the original– some modifications were in order.

I’m thinking of posting detailed modifications as a pdf for interested parties. I’m so pleased with this sweater that I wish it could be re-published so that other knitters could see it afresh as a cute, easy spring knit.

Vital Stats: Grace
knit from 2 balls of Rowan Kidsilk Haze, size 7 needles

Modification summary: First, I chose a size with NO ease. I knit 5 extra inches onto the front and back (yes, in only 2 balls of KH). The front was knit in one piece. I did some additional knitting to make the front and back more compatible with each other and my neck. The sleeve borders were omitted. I wet-blocked this to be very LONG and NARROW.

If you make this, don’t even screw around with steam blocking. It’ll look pretty on the hanger, but you’ll never wear it.

I generally don’t knit the same sweater twice, especially if I wouldn’t wear it to work… but I’m really tempted to use my two deep red balls of KSH to make Grace’s evil twin.
