I got over my disappointment about being short on yarn, and bounced back nicely. Though I’ve wanted a herringbone sweater for a while now, I’m big enough to admit that I’m pretty much biting this next project wholesale from Kate and Katie.

If you look closely, though, you can tell that my herringbone is not made of slip stitch– it’s the stranded pattern for Red Herring. The Barbara Walker slip stitch zigzag pattern looked like crap with this yarn– probably because of the low color contrast.

By the way, the lurid green in this photo isn’t entirely accurate. It’s hard to get accurate photos in our poorly-lit house.
